Part of the stage decoration was a number of white inflatable tubes which had lighting systems inside. The Globe was designed so that the continents were only visible when the internal lighting was on

The 8 internally lit 20 foot high inflatable white tubes, and an 8 foot diameter globe were specified by the shows designer.
